Friday Night Leftovers

  • I just found this "reactions" thing on blogger (see the bottom of this post)...don't know if I like it yet...why do I need it? Is it like the "like" button on FB? Is it just a way for people who read, but may not want to comment, to respond to my post? Will it just make people more lazy (I'm kind of all for that actually)? I'll try it out...see how it goes...we'll see.
  • Why are garbage trucks sooooo loud? Ours wakes us up every single week...necessary evil.
  • We have an Easter Egg Hunt this weekend. I'm excited. It's supposed to rain, but c'est la vie, right? We have rain boots and jackets with hoods...we are ready. I also got the kids these cute little felt Easter buckets (can't be called baskets since there is no weaving of the felt) for their treasures. I hope I can take lots of pictures and not be chasing my little ones the whole time!
  • I'm having kind of a hard time figuring out what to put in the babies' Easter baskets this year. I have a couple of stuffies, some stickers, and I think I may do a Spring "outside present" for each of them. What else? I bought these silly bendy rabbits at the dreaded Wal-Ma.rt yesterday, got home and noticed that they were made in China...okay, actually Husband started inspecting them skeptically when I noticed they were made in China and I then received an informational talk/lecture on how a lot of the cheaper things from China are made with lead. I just thought they were cute...they're going back.
  • We have been LOVING this warmer weather. We have been outside to play this week (almost every day, I think) and we're back to our family walks. This is when I really kick myself for doing 3 days of tutoring...never again!
  • I recently read on a blog that there is an 18-month sleep regression...that explains a lot. We're really trying to let them CIO at night, but it's so hard when you just want the crying to end so you can delve back into your blissful slumber! The last two nights? They've been standing up...for the entire 5 minutes I'll bet...first Hailey and then Matt last night. Just sit down, now lay down, close your eyes, and go back to sleep...don't just stand there crying! DUH! That's what I really want to say...instead, I count to 300 in my head, reluctantly throw the covers off, trudge into their room, lay them back down gently, give lovey and bink...done.
  • We're finally getting the Christmas light off of the roof this weekend! Yippee! We still have a pile of snow in front of our house...crazy!
That's all...hope you have a wonderful weekend and play along with Sippy Cups are Not for Starbucks!

love the "reaction" tab! I always go for fruits snacks, fruit, news socks, and somekind of outside something for the baskets... bubbles, kites, chalk, etc!

I had never seen the reaction tab. Crazy.

We too are loving the warmer weather (especially Harry, since daycare spends a lot of time outside when it's nice enough to do so). We are not so much loving the having to come back inside part, though.

I have been so focused on our church's Lenten food drive that I hadn't even thought about an Easter basket! Shoot -- yet another thing to add to the to do list. I like Jen's bubbles/kites/chalk suggestions.

Hasn't the weather be wonderful! This fat girl can use the exercise! Growing up, and still to this day, my mother has just given baskets FULL of candy. Overflowing with sugary, chocolatey, treats that rot my teeth and fatten my tummy. Oh how I love them, but I refuse to do the same to the girls. Especially since she has already made them baskets they cant' eat.

My SIL does videos, CD's and books for her daughter. I'm at a lost of what to do for my girls.

We're supposed to get rain this weekend too - no fun compared to the sunny stuff today. Maybe once their birthday is over I'll get to the easter basket part. :p I hope.

My fall-back on the Easter baskets is always food . . . Goldfish crackers, animal crackers, fruit strips, etc. Bubbles, sidewalk chalk, crayons, and PlayDoh are also always big hits.

The reaction button cracks me up as well - I have noticed it on several blogs and have also likened it to the 'Like' button on Facebook (which I use when I don't have anything witty to say in response to someones status post.)

I'm not at all embarrassed to say that I still haven't done the Easter basket thing with the girls. I figure that unless they know the difference, I can get away with it. I'm pretty certain I could just find enough stuff they've forgotten about around the house to stick it in a basket and they'd never know the difference.

Hi! Just popping in from FNL. Your twins are adorable! Maybe not in the middle of the night but the rest of the time. :)

I haven't done any easter basket shopping yet either. I'm thinking a book and some plastic eggs to play with will be it.

Stopped in from FNL. Love it!

(and especially love all this Easter basket talk because that means spring is just around the corner....)

FINALLY catching up on blogs tonight!

I love the challenge of Easter Baskets (just like Christmas stockings)...I dont' like to do much candy so I often do a book, socks, hair stuff for Sarah, maybe a train or car for the boys, a toothbrush, stickers, coloring book, etc.

I need to get busy getting my stuff together - haven't even bought a basket for the lil guy yet..let alone what's going in any of them! good luck!

So we have been having sleep issues with Josie again too. We've had to CIO with her two nights now. Sucks.

And you still have a pile of snow? Again, sucks, but hopefully it is gone this weekend. The last of ours melted this past week, thank goodness.

I always put sunglasses, swimsuits, and flip flops in my twins' easter baskets. And I let Daddy take over the picking out candy that they shouldn't have part :)

garbage days are my least fave day of the week. i mean, they are soooo loud and i don't know about everyone else, but ours come so super early in the am. it makes me crazy! and of course all the kids are terrified.

Really you still have snow? That is crazy to me. I am glad ours is all gone. I love it when its winter but come this time of year I am done.
