...maybe I should have been a journalist.
I seethe with guilt when I let the cat out of the bag.
However, I still enjoy being the first.
I love knowing things before other people.
Sometimes I even share said things before I should...
...or when it's not my place...
...and I feel horrible,
but happy at the same time...because I knew first.
Sometimes it's just not my place to announce...
...or discuss...
...or even know.
I'm addicted to The Scoop.
I love knowing things.
I get jealous when other people know things that I don't.
It's like I'm in middle school again...ridic.
I shouldn't care.
I should take a step back and realize it's not my place.
I should keep my damn mouth shut.
I shouldn't care.
Maybe if I became a journalist, this need to know things might go away.
Maybe it would get worse.
Maybe this is why I'm no one's best friend. Best friends keep secrets...I find this very hard to do.
Maybe I've gotten better at it as I've matured.
Maybe I should just stay in my own little bubble and not be exposed to the rest of the world.
Yup...that will be my punishment...banishment.
Now, who can I tell?

Tell me! I love The scoop! I am the same as you, I love knowing things! I struggle go keep secrets but generally I will tell dh and that gets it out of my system!
Have you ever read Dante's Inferno? I think you would be condemned to the ninth circle, round four of hell. That's where scoop-betrayers are completely encapsulated in ice so they can't communicate...which is similar to the punishment you described.
Don't be so hard on yourself. We ALL have our sins. Knowing what they are and striving for improvement makes for a good person...which you are.
